NHS Research Scotland Annual Conference 2018

NHS Research Scotland Annual Conference 2018

31st January 2018

NHS Research Scotland Annual Conference, will return to Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday 30 October.

Scotland’s reputation as a pioneer of medical and pharmaceutical research is well earned.  The discovery of Penicillin, the beta blocker, the hypodermic syringe; the first use of diagnostic ultrasound, the full body MRI scanner and the establishment of the world’s first radiology department – all these things happened in Scotland, and they transformed the lives of patients around the world.

That tradition of research excellence continues to this day, through investment in basic, translational, early and late stage clinical research – driving further advances in medicines and treatments.

As we celebrate 70 years of the NHS our ability to translate research and innovation into excellent individual healthcare is more important than ever.

We hold an enviable position. Our research infrastructure is recognised globally. Combined with world-class data, renowned expertise across all therapy areas, and national approaches to set up and deliver research, Scotland offers an efficient, supportive and enabling environment with strong collaboration between NHS, academia and industry.

Our ability to undertake high-quality research at pace is critical to broader life science objectives. Not only are we working to make people better and healthier but we are building economic growth and supporting Scotland’s vision to be the location of choice for businesses, researchers, healthcare professionals and investors.

Join us in 2018 to celebrate 70 years of medical advances in Scotland and explore the cutting edge research driving improvement and innovation within our health service today.

Over the coming months, we will be launching the conference website, announcing our programme, speakers and opportunities to get involved.

Please stay up to date with plans via #NRSConf18 or email communications@nrs.org.uk to be added to our mailing list.
