NHS Research Scotland Annual Conference, will return to Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday 30 October.
Scotland’s reputation as a pioneer of medical and pharmaceutical research is well earned. The discovery of Penicillin, the beta blocker, the hypodermic syringe; the first use of diagnostic ultrasound, the full body MRI scanner and the establishment of the world’s first radiology department – all these things happened in Scotland, and they transformed the lives of patients around the world.
That tradition of research excellence continues to this day, through investment in basic, translational, early and late stage clinical research – driving further advances in medicines and treatments.
As we celebrate 70 years of the NHS our ability to translate research and innovation into excellent individual healthcare is more important than ever.
