The Drugs Research Network for Scotland

The Drugs Research Network for Scotland (DRNS) is funded by the Scottish Government to support the development and dissemination of research evidence relating to problem drug use in Scotland. The network have supported over 20 collaborative funding bids, studentships and research projects and deliver regular knowledge exchange activities across Scotland.
Applications are now being invited for DRNS membership. The aim is to develop the capacity of the drugs research community by supporting a network of colleagues who are interested / involved in drugs research. Priorities include:
- Promoting colleagues’ work
- Supporting skills development
- Developing collaborative, multi-disciplinary, cross-institutional bids and projects.
The network are especially keen to engage with emerging researchers in the field including Masters and PhD students, and Early Career Researchers; and will engage with them to identify their skills and professional development needs and provide resources to meet these; such as delivering methodological and research skills seminars to members and providing opportunities for them to collaborate in research development. The network are also keen to give emerging and new researchers experience of involvement in bid development, including being named as co-investigators.
Membership is free and open to anyone with an interest in drugs research across Scotland.
